Who We Are
We are a small female owned company with old fashioned values and fresh ideas. We have over two decades of experience in the field of food and beverage and International hospitality management, but it is not only our formal training or past work experience which qualifies us, but rather our unrelenting passion for community and connectedness and our firm belief that the simple joy of sharing good and wholesome food together enhances overall wellbeing.
What we do
Hello Supper exists to make it easier and more convenient for you to serve up wholesome family meals at home. We help eliminate the daily "what’s for supper” stress by minimising the hassle involved in planning, preparing, and coordinating home-made meals.
Our Why
Connection with one another
While we know that every ‘family’s’ make-up is unique and it's suppertime culture even more so, mealtimes all have the same simple objective; to nourish. But we believe that food is so much more than just fuel for the body alone and that sharing a meal together is the ultimate tool for connection. Around a table, we listen, laugh, recall stories and check-in with one another, refueling mind, body and soul. This sounds great on paper but we know it takes a village, as the modern reality is that planning and preparing a wholesome meal often ends up being a stressful chore at the end of a long day. We created Hello Supper to help make suppertime, family time, whatever that may look like in your home.
Throughout my childhood, my mom had one simple and unbreakable rule… suppertime was family time. Every evening we would file into the kitchen in dribs and drabs to share and often help prepare a meal together. My dad would peer over the stove and almost always say "Hellooo supper!". But don’t be fooled, these weren’t always particularly peaceful gatherings; they were filled with siblings shamelessly taunting one another, an almost unbelievable amount of spilled liquid, and robust arguments on what percentage of the plated veggies should be consumed, all amidst failed attempts by the attending adults to find out how school or work was.
Suppertime chaos aside, I will forever be grateful for these evening meals together as they left me with a deep understanding of the value of connectedness, (and a gift for getting stains out of tablecloths!)
Connection with our community, and to the food we eat
We are mindful of the way in which food is produced, the distance it travels to get to your plate and the packaging used in the process, and we have taken great care to partner with like-minded suppliers. We do our best to source main ingredients from the greater Garden Route area and support the truly exceptional small businesses and suppliers in the area. We do not promise organic vegetables or 100% free-range meat, but we do promise that we know where our ingredients come from, how they are produced, and how they get to your plate.
